Our Story

In 2017, Jules and Toria founded STEPS Rehabilitation with a clear mission — to deliver high-quality, person-centred neurological rehabilitation grounded in expertise, empathy and measurable progress.

Through years of working closely with patients, clinicians and families, one insight became increasingly clear: many products designed to support independence did not reflect the dignity, personal choice and modern living environments of the people using them.

STEPS Inclusive Design was founded with a clear belief: you deserve products that support your independence without compromising on style. After many years working in serious injury rehabilitation, we saw first-hand how often equipment was designed for clinical environments with no consideration for design and aesthetics.

We knew there was a better way.

In 2025, we established STEPS Inclusive Design to create products designed with purpose, informed by clinical knowledge and engineered for strength for day-to-day use.

We design solutions that feel familiar yet modern. Every detail is carefully considered, from the shape and materials to the comfort and ease of use. Our goal is simple: to make independence feel dignified, enjoyable and beautifully supported.

Our team

STEPS Inclusive Design is independently owned and family-run. We are a Sheffield-based company focused on developing high-quality, inclusive products. Behind every product is a unique collaboration between expert clinicians, designers and engineers to ensure our products deliver durability, safety and meaningful improvement in daily life.

Our vision

STEPS Inclusive Design envisions a world where inclusive design is not an afterthought, but the benchmark; where rehabilitation and assistive products are trusted, beautiful, and seamlessly integrated into everyday life.

Our purpose

We believe independence should be empowering.

Your home should reflect your taste and comfort, not be overshadowed by unattractive equipment. Our purpose is to create inclusive products that look fantastic, restore confidence in daily routines and help you live with dignity.

Our values

Empathy at the heart

Our work begins with listening. We take time to understand the routines and challenges that shape everyday independence. This insight guides everything we create, ensuring our products are beautifully designed to support you.

Clinically informed, designed for real life

We work in collaboration with world-leading therapists and clinicians at STEPS Rehabilitation. Our products blend professional insight with exceptional design.

Beautifully engineered

Strength and beauty should go hand-in-hand. We carefully refine shapes, materials, and finishes so every product is reliable and comfortable within your home. Longevity matters, which is why we engineer for lasting quality.

Modern, home-friendly aesthetics

We reject the outdated, clinical look that often defines assistive equipment. Instead, we choose modern forms, muted tones and familiar textures. Our aim is to create products that sit naturally within your home.

Refined through real feedback

We improve every design through real experiences. We observe how people move and interact with our products. We adjust and refine until each product feels intuitive, comfortable and easy to use.

Honest and supportive

We believe trust is earned through transparency, thoughtful guidance and products that perform exactly as promised.
