The family Behind the Lana Design

STEPS Inclusive Design was founded by sisters Jules Shiel-Boulger and Toria Chan, whose shared passion for improving lives through innovation has led to the launch of their first product range.

Having previously established STEPS Rehabilitation® together, Jules and Toria have spent years working closely with people who rely on accessible products every day. Through that experience, they recognised a need for better design, greater choice, and products that combine functionality with style and individuality.

As a family business built on family values, STEPS Inclusive Design brings together the expertise and perspectives of multiple generations.

Toria’s son, Toby Chan, is Head of Design. After studying Product Design at university, Toby has spent the last three years working alongside our therapy team, creating bespoke solutions that meet the unique needs of STEPS clients. His combination of creative thinking and practical experience has been instrumental in shaping the STEPS Inclusive Design range.

Jules’s son, Henry Leahy, studied International Business at university and has been part of the STEPS team since 2017, working across a variety of roles within the organisation. His broad understanding of the business and commitment to its values will support the growth and development of STEPS Inclusive Design.

Together, Jules, Toria, Toby and Henry represent a family committed to creating thoughtfully designed products that give people more choice, greater confidence and a better everyday experience.
